Get a big bird tattoo. Then when you hit goal it will shrink to a humming bird.

I am so excited for you too.   It is a huge deal and getting a tattoo to signify the start of a new life is wonderful.
Why not a beautiful monarch butterfly.    Butterflies are beautiful and signify transformation and new life.   You can get a medium size one and you can put the day and date of your surgery.

I am getting one a little sexy fat lady with the wording RIP 9/27/2011 RNY 125.
It signifies my old life being put to rest and the date of my surgery and the weight I will have lost.(Mind you I want mine on the top of my thigh - in a place that can only be seen by my husband, the doctor , Mona, the lady that does my waxing.

But your tatoo has to be a reflection of you.   Do you like flowers you can put a rose.  Or you can get a phoenix rising out of the ashes to symbolize your change either way. 

I wish you all the best and oh make sure you see the artist's work on others before you have any work done.   The worst thing in the world is a cheap looking and badly done tattoo!

Butterflies really are beautiful.... I am just not a super girly girl if that makes sense.

I love yellow roses- totally symbolic for me but for people I have lost and yellow is a ***** on my pale ass skin!!

I guessing I will be spending lots of days looking around at tattoos.  I will probably go to one of the ones I have gone to before because they are super talented.

Thanks for your feedback!! I am probably going with the top of my foot and it isn't very fat lol I am thinking I won't have an issue but I will definitely talk to the artist to see what he thinks....
