Phone call!!!
I say better to get it over with early. I was the third and last patient when I had surgery. Had to be there 10:30am and I don't think my surgery started until like 1pm or something.

Oh cool! That's means you are the first one of the day. I was the last. It sucked. The first 2 surgeries took longer than he thought because they had some issues. I ended up being moved from Weinberg over to same day surgery because of some issues with operating rooms. They were still setting it up when they wheeled me in. I didn't get the good pre-surgery drugs either.
They need time to get you all checked in, changed, get your urine, and you get a blood thinner. All that went pretty fast and my nerves probably made it seem quicker as well. But then I got stuck waiting...and waiting.
Wishing you a easy surgery and speedy recovery!

Because there is a lot to do getting you ready. They will start an IV, may draw some blood to make sure your iron is good, the anesthesiologist will talk to you, they'll ask you a bunch of questions about any meds you take, any health problems, etc.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
That is awesome. I had was at 9:30 and still had to be at the hospital by 7:00. The check you in and then take up to preop. Then you get dressed, settled. You see your surgeons somewhere in there, and then your anesthesiologist will visit. Then the IV and then before you know it you are on your way to surgery.
My prayers are with you for your surgery and with a speedy recovery.
