Freezable crock pot recipes???

A friend of mine mentioned to me about crock pot recipes for which all of the ingredients can be dumped in a gallon ziploc bag, frozen and then when you are ready for the meal, you thaw the bag overnight and dump the ingredients into the crockpot. I have one recipe I know this will work well for.

Looking for other (kid friendly a bonus) recipes that may work for this kind of prep.

Thanks!!

Denise

This might not count as a total zip lock bag thing but... here goes

Depending on how large your family is:
chicken breast cut up ( can be done ahead of time and frozen)
  1 can black beans
  2 cups frozen corn
1 large jar of salsa (your choice, but do pick one that is low in salt)
1 large brick of cream cheese (your choice full fat, low fat, not sure I would  use fat  free on this because it does not melt very well)

Put everything in crock pot, set to low.  Just before serving, shread the chicken and add the cream cheese.  Makes a yummy dish and everyone should enjoy.

Um--YUM! Freezable or not--I can see this by itself, in a quesadilla, with some tortilla chips (made from low carb/hi protein wraps of course!)--sounds awesome. And this is soooo simple that it really doesn't have to be frozen--even my friend that doesn't cook should be able to work this one out for me!! And huge bonus--my kids actually eat corn and black beans. YAY!

Thanks!

YUM...Southwest Chicken!

We have this at least 2-3 times every month! I've made a few minor changes ...I use a whole package of HEB's Thigh Strips..about 2lbs. One 16oz pkg of frozen sweet corn, 1 container of Kroger's Mango Peach Salsa...to me this is the secret ingredient. Any other salsa changes the flavor of the whole thing. 1 large family size can of black beans. And I no longer add the cream cheese to the whole pot. DH doesn't always like it so this way we can add it if we want and it's fresh for that meal.

I am surprised at how much water there is in frozen chicken! There's always alot of juice so I started adding about a half cup of TVP to the crock pot about an hour before serving. This not only soaks up all that good juice but it makes more!

BTW... I layer it with everything frozen and/or right out of the can.....chicken, salsa, black beans then corn....put the lid on and cook on high for 6 hours or low for an all day cook.

Hey there. First I must say you are looking just adorable!! I've been around here a bit. Been over on the plastics board a bit more as I am having my lower body lift and breast lift this Friday, so be sure to say a prayer for me! I don't know how soon I'll be back on, but will be sure my friend lets everyone know I lived if I'm not feeling up to posting.

Take care!
