650 lbs lost!!
Your family has been truly blessed, love the smiles on everyone's face. I read your post and I understand how sad and hurtful times had been for you and your children, hence now everyone is smiling, self esteem has taken hold, energy to do activities. Not sure about the boys, I imagine though they are into clothes as much as you and your daughter are.
I surely understand why your family was picked for a commercial to promote surgery. Keep giving back.

Kathee, thank you and yes, we truly have been blessed. You hit the nail on the head, they definietly have a new self esteem and confidence that make me so happy. Something I knew was always there but their weight was holding them back. I remember one time going to an amusement park and the four of us had to exit the ride because we were too big to fit....
And funny you say that about the clothes even for the boys because as the boys and I were talking the night before their surgery and I asked them what they were most looking forward to after surgery my youngest son said 'going into one of the cool stores to buy clothes'. They are both loving buying clothes that have style and fit!
Take care,
Nan

Wow, what an amazingly beautiful family. You/they are an inspiration to me. I've been attempting to talk to my 21 year old daughter about doing this next. She said should would prefer the band, and I know from friends' experiences and everything I've read here I would prefer her to do RNY. I can't wait to show her this post. Thank you.
Thank you!! Please do share the post with your daughter and tell her my kids were 18, 21 and 22 when they had their surgery. They are all so HAPPY now and no regrets. I also agree with you about preferring the RNY. I have had several friends who had the band and have regreted their decision, either not losing all of the weight they needed to lose or gaining the weight they lost back. I am so thankful our insurance covered WLS and rather than try and talk my kids into having surgery, I talked to them about 'if you have any desire to do it, please think about it while you are covered under my insurance'. I wanted it to be their decision to have surgery but I was hoping like crazy they'd all make the decision to do it!! My daughter was totally against it at first, then saw me lose the weight and she decided she wanted to.
I really hopes she makes the decision to go thru with RNY and WLS because I can speak from experience from all three of my kids (along with myself) it is the BEST thing we have ever done. I am gratefull that my kids had their surgery when they were young and will enjoy a healthly life now....rather than me who waited until I was 48 years old and missed out on a lot in life because of my weight.
Good Luck to you and your daughter!!
