Are you on full liquids?  Does stuff like jello and pudding go down easier than drinks?

Do warm drinks like tea or sugar free hot chocolate hurt less than cold drinks?

How about some sugar free popsicles?  You could even make your own with a protein drink like Isopure or Syntrax Nectar lemonade or something.

My friend has this surgery 2 months ago and suggested from the beginning to stick to warm liquids! This saved me so far. I had surgery 1 day before you and I am actually able to gulp warm water, cold water was totally painful!! And as for sleeping, I can totally identify with you, I was a stomach sleeper and have barely slept and when I do sleep and wake up SUPER early I cant get back to sleep, sleepy time tea does help though!! I'd also like to know about proteins, I feel like even if I had a shake for all three meals I wont get the full required protein amount, so thank you for asking!! Our surgery dates were so close let's dn this together!! Just writing to let you know your not alone in this even though its totally not helpful!!

How are you making your protein shakes if three of them doesn't give you enough protein?  It's fairly easy to make a shake with at least 20 grams of protein.

My favorite ready to drink shake is EAS Myoplex with 42 grams of protein. I buy them at Vitamin Shoppe. They come in chocolate fudge, rich dark chocolate, strawberry cream and French vanilla. So  yummy. It may take you an hour or more to finish a whole one. It's best super cold. If you had two of these in a day, you would be doing really good on protein.

Sleep is hard, but it does get better. I don't know if it's that you eventually get so tired that you sleep or that it just gets easier, but it does. This time will pass.

Good luck to you. Feel better.

I had/have issues with drinking too, I get more water in by having ice, I have it shaved or chips and seem to be able to tolerate that and it is soooo refreshing, I also do the Sugar free popsicles which I never cared for before surgery but now have 2 or 3 a day.
Good luck
