Imma nervous wreck
So I saw my NUT yesterday...lost all the required weight, met with the Dr he was a real downer said most likely will have to cut me open, I ended up crying cause he was so hateful and in the 6 months I have seen him he has never been a jerk ugh Then went to the hospital and pre registered.....didnt have to be a hospital til 11am on Monday, that really worried me casue of my panic attacks..... but was okay thinking well I'll get my kids off to school at least...just got a call from the lovely receptionist at my Dr's office he had a cancelation for Monday and now I need to be there by 5:45!!!! Yeah me I am so happy I wont have the whole morning to think about this....
He said I had not lost the weight he required me to lose......But I did!!!!! My NUT was very pleased with my weight lose so I dont know what his deal was.....He said so I cant get around your liver cause you didnt lose enough weight so I will have to cut you open or I sew you up and be done and I was like umm hell no I have worked to hard for this I have went thru thick and thin to do this and have wanted this my whole adult life so cut me open if thats what has to be done!!!!
Perhaps you could respectfully remind him you did lose the weight and would he entertain starting laprascopically and switching to open, if it is absolutely necessary?
Also, about the recliner. Any spare sheets you could throw over hubby's work recliner? If not, maybe someone could loan you one or pick one up at thrift shop, or matching an existing set that you could put into rotation after you don't need it on the recliner anymore?
I have an extra lobe on my liver (Ridells lobe) and was still able to be laprascopic.
I wish you the best and if you must be open, so be it. No one will see it unless you show it to them and if you have plastic reconstruction in the future there may be other scars to deal with. The best news is that you are on your way to being healthy again.
Best wishes,
Paula

I didnt think about a sheet on his recliner, I may try that but it is soo broken down its unreal...I have begged him to throw it out and get a new one but he loves the feel....Thinking I may have him go to a rent to own Tuesday and get one and send it back when Im done...I'll have to take my treadmill outta the living room but it's not like I can really use the 1st couple weeks anyhow....I do plan to talk to him Monday morning before the surgery about laprasopic......
Thanks

Hey, if you are thinking of renting one, you might want to look into renting one of those power medical recliners that not only leans back but the seat lifts you to almost a standing position. That is what my sister did, but she bought hers as she knew she was going to have alot of plastic sugery after for the skin that would be left.
You might have some luck finding one on Craig's List?

I can definitely empathize with you. But doctors are people too - maybe he was having a really bad day - not that it should affect the way he treats you, but you said all the other times have been pleasant. I had the same surgery time - I was happy with that. I have the panic issues as well...have much improved since surgery - something to look forward to.
Good luck!
