First day of work

I started my new job today.  It is AMAZING!  I was given freedom to do whatever I wanted with the store.  I got to pick out the software for the back office computer and the POS system.  I even got to add another register to the store.  They are letting me design the landscaping.  This is like a dream job!
They are giving me a company phone, so I don't have to give out my personal number to employees.  (I will no doubt love my team, but there is always that ONE person that gets fired that you wish didn't have any of your personal information).
I asked them what hours they wanted me to work and they asked me what hours I wanted to work.  I asked them if I could get a file cabinet for my new office.  They handed me a catalog and told me to pick out whatever office equipment I wanted.. desk, cabinets, etc.
I am so unbelievably happy!!  I am sure that there will be crap to deal with.. after all, this is retail, but it would take a LOT of crap to counter balance the amazing perks.  The people are great.. VERY laid back.
They are even letting me set up a recycling program! (A big deal to me!  I'm kind of a tree-hugger!).  I get to do charity events for The Boys and Girls Club.  I get to determine the fuel prices.
Oh my gosh!!  I don't know what I did to deserve this, but I am SO grateful and I wanted to share my happiness with my OH family.
To top it all off, I came home today to a SPOTLESS house.  The Cowboy cleaned EVERYTHING!  Dishes all done and put away.  Laundry done.. floors clean.  I am such a lucky girl!!

That is so nice.  I want your job.  I also want to come home and find my house has been cleaned.

Do you get much say over what products the store carries?  I know you'll have to have all the usual junk you buy at a gas station, but it would be cool to have some healthy choices too.

Hey, you know what else would be cool?  I've been in tree hugger mode lately.  Stuff like offering a small discount on coffee and fountain drinks if people bring their own cups.

Oh. good idea.  I'll set up a refill price.

Yes, I get to choose what we carry with only a few exceptions.  I will be adding healthy choices (because I am sure I will have to eat food from the station from time to time).

And you could sell reusable cups.  Hey, maybe you could sell resuable cups that support some environmental organization or some other good organization to support?

You're gonna have fun.  And I bet you will be eating food from work sometimes.

Hopefully, I won't have to eat gas station food TOO often.. I have access to the buffet at the Casino across the street (owned by the same people).   Normally, I am not a buffet girl (especially now), but there is usually something hot and healthy to choose from.

When you love your job you never work a day in your life!  It's awesome.  Congrats
