Forgiveness ... is the finishing of old business
that allows us to experience the present,
free of contamination from the past.
- Joan Borysenko

You may be saying to yourself as you read this....SHE HAS LOST HER MIND  this AM.   What does THIS have to do with losing weight and WLS.    It does though.....think about it.....we must forgive ourselves or our parents for our past choices that made us have our weight problems and issues in the first place.    We also have to remember that we are NOT perfect and that we have to take things one day at a time in our life long journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Thank you Vivian. What a perfect quote. I do find myself thinking back to my childhood. I remeber being called chubby, fat, and ugly. I was never really over weight until I was 17. But my brothers have a different metabolism and always looked like adds for Ethiopian orphans! Two out of three of them struggle with addiction to this day. Mine manifested as food addiction. I remember feeling very hungry as a child growing up with a grumbling stomach. Both parents struggled with weight and addiction issues. As an adult I have come to terms with it and learn daily from my observations of my past.
However, the nasty green eyed unforgiving monster loves to raise its head once in a while and flaunt some of these unpleasant memories right in front of me. When this happens I pray the Lord's prayer emphasisng "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debters". Thanks again for this quote. Karen

Vivian,
This is such a great quote. Right now are the Jewish days of repentance, the time between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur when we ask forgiveness for the last year so we can start the year anew. What a perfect quote for this. I'm sending it to all my Jewish friends.
Hugs.
