Is it even possible? 26lbs/28 days?
I did not have to do a pre-op diet at all so I cant speak from experience. But I have heard that the firt 3-4 days are the hardest to get thru. I will be thinking of you and I wish you luck. You CAN do this!

I was on 3 protien shakes a day for 14 days plus clear fluids. I lost 16 pounds and my weight on the day I started was 278. I has already lost 12 lbs on my own. The low carb was like a detox for me. For the first 4 days or so, I was shaking and sweating and felt pretty crappy, but then my body adjusted and I was fine. I actually was never really hungery, just had head hunger. Good luck to you! And I'm sure they won't turn you away on the day of surgery if you come close but don't lose every last pound. As a matter of fact, the hospital didn't even weigh me on the day of surgery because they used my weight from my pre-op appt, and I know for most people it wouldn't change that much in 6 days but mine did! By 8 or 9 lbs.
I used Medifast products a few years ago and lost over 50lbs. I can't remember what I lost in four weeks, but I do remember losing 16 in two weeks. As others have said, the first few days are the hardest, but then it does get a little easier. The Medifast site has an active forum and lots of people post recipes using the mixes (like making a shake into a cake), so if you find you don't like a food, you might want to see if others have found a way to make it tolerable.
