Take half a dose if you haven't taken it before, and/or water it down. The alcohol in it will throw you if you haven't had any alcohol yet, and there's sugar in there if you're sensitive. It's do-able but be careful. No driving afterwards in case it makes you drowsy.

I take it when needed but only if I'm going to be able to sleep after.  There is a lot of sugar (may cause dumping)  in it and the alcohol could make you feel drunk.

May be best to call your surgeon for recommendations this early out.  Tylenol Cold is on most surgeons approved med list.

Check with your surgeon. Nyquil has ibuprofen in it...an NSAID that RNYers
must be careful with.

It is not an nsaid.  It is Tylonel or generic is known as Acetaminophen.  I haven't taken the liquid version but I have had the liquid gels and hard ones with the vitamin c. I dump after about 12 grams of sugar if that helps. I suggest taking it where you will be sleeping.  It kicks in way faster since surgery.
