Sudafed

Can I take Sudafed?  I did a search and read differing views about whether it is safe to take.  The ingredients show it has Advil.  I have had a sinus headache for 2 weeks, and tylenol barely touches the pain.  It eases for a short period of time but returns.  If I cannot take Sudafed, does anyone have any suggestions on what is safe to take for sinus pressure?

I take Sudafed with no problems.

Ingredients from Sudafed's site:

Ingredients   Active Ingredient (in each tablet)
Phenylephrine HCl 10 mg
  Purpose
Nasal decongestant

Inactive Ingredients
carnauba wax, corn starch, D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake, FD&C red #40 aluminum lake, FD&C yellow #6 aluminum lake, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, powdered cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, talc, titanium dioxide

Now if you get the cold and sinus, I am sure that probably has advil in it.  These without are the little red easy to swallow pills.
Due to current economic conditions the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.                                                                         HW: 396 GW:230

Plain ol' Sudafed is fine to take... no ibuprofen in it and it's the only thing that dries up my post-nasal drip and slows down a sinus headache.  It won't address the causes of any issue, but it temporarily relieves the symptoms.

Highly recommended... but keep in mind that it does temporarily raise blood pressure.  If you have any issues along those lines, best to discuss with a doctor before taking.

Hope you feel better!

I take Sudafed and have for a long time. I also take Advil on the advice of my surgeon. I am only to take it on a full stomach and only for short periods of time. I've been doing it for 9 yrs after surgery and I'm fine. Most bariatric docs now allow patients to take the gel form of Nsaids and have lessened their stance on "No Advil" type products. For sinus headaches I take either tylenol sinus or Advil sinus. Sineaid works well to - again never on an empty stomach. Works well for me and I've never had a problem.
