Beans are a good source of protein and I can tolerate them. Going to a tail gate party tomorrow night and need to bring baked beans. anyone have a good recipe that they have been able to tolerate?

Thanks in Advance!

Hey Shannon, I did a google search for sugar free baked beans and found quite a few options.  This one looks pretty good, but I would probably use Splenda brown sugar combined with sugar free maple syrup for the sweetener.

There is this good blog by Lilac something..she has some recipes.  I have tried a couple of her recipes and liked them.

Here's the link

I bought a jar of cooked northern beans and the sugar listed on the jar is 0g.  You could use them in the above recipe (instead of kidney beans, which I hate!) and have normal baked beans. Just an idea. I plan to experiment and come up with my own recipe as they are the only beans I like. Let us know what you end up making!
