Four days to go and surprisingly calm

I have lost around 18 pounds in the last three and a half weeks, not the 24 they wanted me to. I just have a feeling they aren't going to hit the roof if I don't hit the mark. They took me off the liquid diet and the weight stopped pouring off.

I am really surprised by my calmness at this point. I think I was far more nervous when I was researching my options. Maybe it took me getting obsessed a year ago, getting caught up in the "community drama" and then taking a step back to get here. The unexpected hospital stay also did a bit to calm my nerves. If I could handle four days of unexpected quarantine, I can do one night in the hospital. Fall break was this past week and technically I could go to class Monday and Tuesday, but I am not going to. I am avoiding the germs. I am just chilling and exercising for the next four days.

What were YOU doing the last few days pre-op? Is there anything you didn't do that you wish you had done? Anything you did that you regretted, other than food choices?
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

I was very wishy washy a few days before surgery  I wasn't so sure that I "needed" surgery.

For my last dinner, I had pizza with extra cheese.  It was unexpectedly important, as I can no longer tolerate cheese, much less pizza

I am on a very strict pre-op diet. No last meal for me.

good for you! I'm sure you are exactly right, the obsessing, stepping back, and making the decision. Sounds like an excellent way to be where you are.

I'm sure you will do fabulous!I was happy I got a pedicure before my surgery because every time my surgeon visited me in the hospital, he patted my feet while he talked to me! LOL

good luck!

I spent the week pre-op obsessively going through all the Before & After photos and profiles!!

It's just like all your birthdays, Christmases, and first dates, all rolled up into one big event! Jitters galore!

Hang in there--they'll be yelling at you to "wake up, Amber" in no time!

Best wishes,

My last few days before surgery I was busy finishing up on getting my house spic & span so when I got home from the hospital I could just kick back and relax.

I wasn't nervous about the surgery at all.  After I got to the hospital & got into a gown in the prep room, I sat up in the gurney reading.  About 20 minutes before it the anesthetist asked me if I was nervous because if I was he could give me a sedative.  I wasn't & he said "Good, because it makes it harder for you to wake up after surgery."  When they wheeled me in and were preparing to put me under we were joking about my tattoos.  The next thing I knew, I woke up in my bed.  Easy Peasy.
