GETTING EVERYTHING DONE

Ok I am feeling a whole lot better.  On Friday I had my EKG, an adominal ultrsound, chest X-Ray, blood work, and guess what I did get scheduled for my Upper Gi series , and that is scheduled for Wednesday 16th, Yeah!! I heard that with this GI thing I have to drink this stuff called Barium, and People says that it tastes yucky!! Oh well anything to get this surgery done! Now when I go to my surgeon on this Fri 18th I will have everything ready and should get a definite surgery date!

 

Good luck! Barium isn't that bad, very chalky tho. I've had it twice.

Thanks I hope the barium is not that bad, but then again I don't care I will drink anything right about now if it gets me a surgery date! lol

 I'll probably get flamed for this..but...I can tolerate the barium much easier than I can protein drinks. It's really not bad and you don't have to drink too much. Good luck!

Yayyyyy!!! Super exciting!!! As for me the barium is yuck. Especially since they made me drink something similar to alka-seltzer to blow you up a little, then drink the barium and you can't burp.  That was a recipe for disaster for me, well the 1st time.  Getting it done for the RNY, wasn't as bad but still yucky!! Hoping you get a date!!!

Your upper GI series goes VERY fast.  It was over for me in less than 10 minutes, max.  I drank a small cup of a fizzy drink, and then a cup of the barium.  It wasn't bad at all, just a bland taste to it.  I too, have tasted worse in protein drinks.  I had a few photos taken standing up, and a few lying down on each side.  The techs are so kind and thoughtful, they guide you through the whole thing. 
So glad that you are so close to getting your surgery date!
