Vent away, but I don't think there are any answers.  I have a cast iron pouch, just like I had a cast iron stomach and nothing seems to bother it but I think I am the exception, not the rule.

I don't think your situation is uncommon.  I have heard others complain about not being able to eat chicken.  I am the same way with pork even three years out.  I have to be super careful and sometimes it just doesn't go well.

It took a good 2 months before I could consistently eat chicken without a problem.  I kept trying it every few days because chicken is a staple of mine.  Now I eat it just about every day without thinking about it.

I haven't tried steak yet, but I cannot tolerate chicken or fish.  Ground beef and ham is about the only meats my pouch has any tolerance for.  If it weren't for the protein (or lack there of) I believe I could survive off of fruits and vetegables.

Try it again in a month or so.  Might work better then.

You know, in the meantime, you could try the soy chicken stuff from Morningstar Farms.  I think it tastes a lot like real chicken (that's what I'm told - it's been so long since I've eaten chicken I'm not sure I would know, really).

I can only eat chicken that is very tender, usually baked, but not dried out.
