Insurance issues?
Currently, my insurance does not cover WLS. This is my primary coverage.
Starting January 1, I will be carrying my husband's policy as secondary, which DOES cover WLS.
I verified that there is no time limit to being on the policy with his insurance, as well as the requirements. No issues.
So of course, I'm worried they will decline the coverage because it's secondary. They *said* they wouldn't, but wondering if anyone else has encountered having WLS billed to secondary insurance.

Okay, you know that your primary insurance has an exclusion for WLS. So your secondary insurance will be primary in this instance and you have to do everything they require for coverage. You need to make sure that your doc/hospital precertify your surgery with your SECONDARY insurance company. They will probably bill your primary insurance first, receive a denial for noncoverage, and then bill your secondary insurance. As long as you have met all of that insurance company's requirements for WLS and your procedure has been precerted, there should be no problems with payment.
Good luck!
