Hey everybody, my rny is scheduled for 12/29, and I need some unflavored protien powder! Do anybody know of a store that sells it for a reasonable price! Thanks, I think having unflavored protien powder is a good way to make sure you get your daily protien intake

My first jug was from Amazon- Jarrow brand.  Shipped to the house was $10 for a pound.  (I was too lazy to go out looking for any.)  Overall, what I can buy from Costco or Sams is a good price.  GNC has a sale on it at the moment, and that can be purchased online if interested.  On the sleeve board Beneprotein is popular, but I have not tried that one.

Inexpensive protein powder may not suit your tastebuds.  Your tastebuds undergo changes and you may have real issues with flavor and texture of many foods. I'd suggest you try to get samples to try first.  Usually I suggest you try the samples prior to surgery, and select one you like best from 2 samples of each.  But since your surgery is about a week away, go to vitalady.com and order a variety of samples there. I think she has unflavored also. Many "unflavored" protein powders have a taste to them.  I use a generic one I use several times a week. It mixes well with water, FF milk and doesn't alter the change of foods that I mix it with either.  Someone elses' favorite protien may be one you hate due to your taste opinion.  You may end up spening more money on a protein you prefer.  Post op life has some costs involved. Be sure you do get your vitamins, calcium citrate, dry D3, etc. to maintain good vitamin levels.  DAVE

I found a place that has the best price on unflavored whey isolate I have ever found.  I purchased 20 lbs from them last summer for about $100 and I used it up in about 2 months.  I use it for everything, shakes, cooking, anything I can add it to.  After I ran out I tried some other kinds from the supplement store and none of them tasted as good or worked as well in cooking.
I just recently ordered 50 lbs more and the guy gave me a good deal when I emailed him and asked.  I was able to get 50 lbs for $200.
They also sell samples very cheap if you email them and ask.  I think I got 10 different samples for $5.99 but you need to ask them.  Their cake batter flavor is great but I decided that I wanted the unflavored in such a large amount since it was so versatile.
If you decide to buy a larger amount I have some coupon codes if you are interested.  Like Dave said, I would try it out first, though.

I have always used GNC unflavored because their 2 LB tubs are always on sale BOGO 50% off and it's not bad tasting and mixes well. But online I saw that they have Ispure unflavored whey protein isolate on sale 3 Lbs for $40 only so I bought it! Supposed to be a hell of a lot more than that! I don't know that it's still on sale for that price, but worth a look.
