Taking Pill form Vitamins and Supps - When Can We?

Brutal honesty here:

I haven't taken a full days worth of vitamins, calcium, or iron in about a month. I have 2 huge chewable Centrums that I hate and 6 BA calcium chews a day that are so sweet, the thought of them now makes my throat hurt.

I want to be compliant. When can we start taking pill supplements like this? I'm at about 5/6 months and switched from chewable iron to pill form about a month ago.

Thanks to you all!

I only did chewable vitamins the first 3 weeks, when I was on liquids. When I advanced to soft foods, I started taking calcium pills per MD approval. I did not have any trouble with a pill getting stuck.

I am 3 weeks out and I started with all pill forms. I just make sure they are smaller than a dime and take one pill at a time -- sometimes it can be uncomfortable -- but you should be ok bc ur over the 3 month period. Take them pills girl!

I was given pills in the hospital.

I still have issues with taking them regularly tho. I can't stand the taste of any multivitamin and the calcium I take is in large capsules. I hate huge pills.

Ok, I gotta start taking them regularly. I know I do. I don't wanna end up with a deficiency.

Citracal petites are fairly small and tolerable :)

Have you tried Upcal D?  It's powdered calcium.  I love it.  You just dump it in any drink.  Has no taste at all.

The ASMBS says whenever you can tolerate pills, you can take them.  I've been swallowing pills since about eight hours after my surgery.
