HERNIA

My doctor told me that a lot of people who have WLS surgery also have a hiatal hernia, that gets repaired during surgery.   If there is a problem (stones, etc.) with the gallbladder they usally fix or remove it at the same time.  My hernia was repaired, and I didn't have a problem with my gallbladder.

You don't mention what type of hernia problem you have.  If it gives you any comfort, I had a hiatal hernia repaired during my bypass and the whole thing was able to be done laparascopically.
