I'm two weeks post op. you will get nervous we all do but anesthesia listened to what I had to say and it was the best preop I have had. Don't take a lot to the hospital you won't use it! I did take my own robe for walking the hallways which I did as much as they would let me. I think it made a difference! Ice chips will be your best friend! It kept my fluids up and I don't think I gained a lot in the hospital like some people say. Have a pillow for your ride home cause bumps hurt a lot! I don't regret anything I went through my only concern is hair loss which hadn't happened yet! Best of luck! You will do great!

Wonderful news!  How terrific that your date got moved closer to the 23rd!  I found out I was approved just after Christmas and my date is February 9th.  I start my required preop diet (that will last 10 days) on January 29th.  From what I learned in our hospital's nutrition classes since June/July is that the most important thing is to follow the dr.'s preop and postop instructions EXACTLY...especially the diet guidelines.  My dear friend had her WLS a few years ago and she said what helped her a lot was walking at least a little bit each and every day after she got home from the hospital.  Good Luck...I really enjoy this website and following everyone's experiences, so helpful!

Congratulations. My surgery is scheduled for Feb 27th but I am going to take your lead and ask if it can be done sooner. I am so anxious and dont want to wait that long.
