First dinner out!
I was so worried going out to dinner.....but it was a good friends birthday dinner so I had to do it! My fear was watching everyone eat all my favorites! Im on the mush phase & was happy to see onion soup on the menu. Figured the cheese would be protein & the broth would go down. (I've head you can throw up trying new foods) Well the cheese was mozzarella and just wouldn't chew to mush..gross.....scared not to have protein so I snagged 2 pieces of chicken from my husbands chicken ceaser and fork mushed it w the broth of the soup! It felt so good to figure it out and I just did it quietly while everyone gabbed.
At the end of the evening one of my friends whispered how impressed she was that I did so well and that I came.
I was so worked that I wouldn't be able to go..emotionally and physically trying to find something on the menu!
Phew that felt like a landmark passed....lol

When you hit regular foods it's easy.
I usually order some kind of grilled sandwich no bun, and substitute veggies for the fries.,
I end up with a steak or chicken breast meal that looks & tastes awesome.
For fast food (when desparate I usually keep pumpkin seeds & beef jerkey in the car) Most of the chicken strips are really high protein (& fat) and willl do in a pinch.

For Mexican food restaraunts I choose refried beans or tortilla soup. Most restaraunts have good soups. If not i usually choose mashed potatoes or mac and cheese...not the best choices but something you can eat in a pinch. Most of the time I just grab a few bites from my husband and kids plates. I still have a lot of problems with meat, so it's kind of difficult to get the protein from the meats, so soup is the way I go most of the time. You chose great. Eating out is not as fun as it used to be but it is doable.
