Will this stop the surgery?

My surgery is scheduled for Monday.  For the past few days I've had a stuffy nose.  That's the only symptom - no cough, sore throat, nothing else.  Could this make them decide not to go ahead with surgery?

I got my CPAP today (for mild sleep apnea) and when it's on, I can breathe through my nose.

What do you think?

No,if it stays like this, you will likely be fine.

You will be intubated during surgery anyway. If your program allows vitamins etc at this stage, I would stock up major on VitC, Echinacea and Cold FX in hopes to clear it up this week.

Good luck!

Probably not, as long as you don't have a fever and your lungs are not congested.

Doubt they would cancel a surgery  - unless you show sign of a fever. They will listen to your chest and take a temp - if your lungs are not clear however - they could wait.

I had the same thing happen to me a few days before surgery. Stuffy, runny nose, sneezing, etc. and it did not postpone my surgery. As long as there are no indicators of infection (fever, etc) I think you'll be just fine! :)

Probably is up to the surgeon but from what you describe it is doubtful your surgery woud be cancelled.

I had a cold with a sore throat during my sugery.  I remember being so scared they would cancel it, but they didn't even blink.

Are you taking an anit-histamine?  If not, that might help some.
