Gainage Threshold
OK...thanks to TOM most all woman have about a 3-5 pound water weight gain a month.....
YEA!!!!!!
So it got me thinking...what is your threshold of gainage before you start doing something about getting your weight back down? OR do you just blow it off cause even 10 pounds heavier you are still smaller when you started?
I can tell you for me....I remembered how I felt 2 + years ago and will NOT get back to where I was. I freak out when the scale starts inching up towards 160....for me and my comfort I like to stay between 150 to 155. I hate to admit this too but if I weighed over 155 I even start feeling FAT. Which for the record is not my goal weight of which I may never see.....
I will say losing the weight was easy....maintenance is a *****!!!!!

I started to respond, but sound pretty neurotic..... so, here goes again.....
I'm very very prone to water retention. So, while I'm a daily weigher, and my weight can fluctuate ALOT, I watch for other signs - like if my rings don't fit - to really determine where I'm at. The numbers on the scale are not the only indicater of where I'm at. Now, if my numbers climbed, and stayed up I would take some action. Personally, I won't be blowing off a true 10lb weight gain.

If I go over my goal weight I put the breaks on very quickly. Thankfully (so far) I've only done that once in 7 years. It's amazing how 5 lbs can make a difference in how my pants fit.Yet I somehow ignored the 100+ pounds that crept on! Ignoring that I had go buy new pants in the next size up because my current pants didn't fit me. I remember the day I went to Lane Bryant the first time; I had just went back to work after being home with my daughter for a couple of years, and I needed work clothes.
I fooled myself into thinking I went there because they had many size 14 petites, but truth be told it was because I couldn't find clothes in "normal" stores that fit. Then the next time I needed clothes I went back and got a credit card. And that's where I started to shop, creeping into the 16's and I want to say even an 18 or two before surgery.
Didn't mean to go off on a tangent, just wanted to say how much different I think now.
I am sure I can't be the only one who feels like that!
My goal weight is 140. My limit is +3 pounds. If I hit this, I cut back 500 calories a day and track every bite that goes in my mouth. I'm a daily weigher. This works for me.
