Ever since I had my RNY, I have had ongoing issue with pain in both my upper legs. It keeps getting worse, and nothing seems to help. I have an appointmebt on Tuesday and will ask. Till then I am looking for some insight! Anyone???

I've had pain and numbness in my thighs since my surgery 1/6. Dr says it's likely from being on the table so long (and your legs don't move during surgery). My dr says to give it time. Sports drinks help a little. Mine has improved slightly, but still have some pain (ESP over night)

I know this sounds crazy, but it may also be your back. As you lose weight, your spine shifts, and it may be pressing on various nerves. My back issues tend to lend themselves to tingling and numbness in my legs or feet.

I need to get into the chiropractor again. I just need to find a new one, and I hate that part

I hope you both feel better soon!

Maybe give them a call before Tuesday (like tonight) and explain the symptoms to them. Don't want it to be anything serious. Although I've never heard of post op pain in 2 legs being serious, I am concerned that you say its worsening.

Do you have a history of blood clots?  Are you moving around enough?  People that don't move their legs enough, whether they are bed ridden or don't get up and walk, can get blood clots.  I am speaking from experience.  You should be concerned especially if you get chest pain or short of breath.  I had a blood clot in my leg after knee surgery in 2001.  I had a blood clot in my lung 2 weeks after my RNY.  Ask them to do an ultrasound of your legs including your calves.  I don't want to scare you but it's better to be safer than sorry.

How long ago was your surgery? Are you taking the right supplements such as vit b12, D3, magnesium, potassium, etc...have you had any levels checked? I agree with the previous posters to look at all aspects of where this pain may be coming from. Don't just accept this is a normal post op thing...it's not. Good luck, hope you get some good answers on tuesday!
