Wedding Anniversary and just over 1 month post op??
So today is my wedding anniversary..I'm married to an amazing man who has been so supportive through this entire process. He has even started a diet to help him lose the extra 40 or so pounds he is carrying. Tonight we have plans to go to a restaurant for 'dinner'. I reallllllly would like to order the crab cakes and eat 1/2 or 3/4 of one and call it dinner. I'm not exactly sure how they are prepared there but they are not fully coated with breading and deep fried..they are more like seared on the top and bottom with no real breading. Crab and seafood are on my diet list but I know it will put me way over the calories I'm normally getting(on a good day I've been getting 450 calories in).
So what do you guys think...go for the crab cake..or order a fish type meal..and obviously only eat some of the fish and maybe a few bites of steamed veggies? Thanks so much for the input!

I was about as far out as you are and I ordered a crab cake at Ruby Tuesdays. It was pan fried and had large lumps of crab and I mostly picked those out and ate them. You should be fine but hey its your anniversary! Live a little right? I would say be careful mostly because if it is deep fried or pan fried.

Personally, I'd look for a seafood meal that's simply steamed, broiled or baked -- like broiled salmon or scallops, or steamed shrimp. I wouldn't do the crab cakes, even though I love them. I'd also ask for any sauce to be served on the side so that I could determine how much of it to eat. I wouldn't ask them to hold the sauce because you might need it to moisten your food. (Great tip for sauces and salad dressing -- dip your fork in the sauce or dressing before taking a bite of your salad or entree. You get the flavor of the sauce but eat only a tiny bit of it in every bite.)
