Scale Victory - 1/2 Way to GOOOOOOOOAL!
HI CONGRATULATIONS ON YOU WEIGHT LOSS, I CAN'T WAIT TIL I CAN POST SUCH GREAT NEWS, I AM SO HAPPY FOR OTHERS WHOM HAVE ALREADY HAD THERE SURGERIES.I AM HOPING TO HAVE MINE SOON, GOING TO MY FIRST SEMINAR NEXT WEEK AND THAT NIGHT I AM SUPPOSE TO GET AN APPT. WITH THE SURGEON WHOM WILL DO MY SURGERY.
I KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE HOW MANY POUNDS DO THEY WANT YOU TO LOOSE BEFORE SURGERY? I HAVE LOST MANY A POUND IN THE PAST TO ONLY GAIN IT BACK. I KNOW YOU MUST GO ON A LIQUID DIET I THINK 7 DAYS PRIOR TO SURGERY SO YOUR LIVER WILL SHRINK. BUT DID YOU GO ON ANY OTHER KIND OF SPECIAL DIET BEFORE YOUR SURGERY OR DID THEY MAKE YOU LOOSE SO MUCH BEFORE HAND? I AM A DIABETIC AND DR. RECOMMENED I SIGN UP FOR BARIATRIC SO I DID THE APPLICATION AND THE WAITING GAME IS HARD, I WANT MY NEW JOURNEY TO BEGIN SOON.
HOPE TO CHAT WITH YOU AND OTHERS AS THIS JOURNEY CONTINUES.
HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, I AM SURE YOU ARE ALL SMILES AS YOU GET CLOSER TO YOUR HEALTHIER WEIGHT YOU DESIRE,. I KNOW I HAVE BIG PLANS FOR ME , ONCE I REACH MY HEALTHY WEIGHT.

First off, congratulations on starting your journey to a healthier life! The waiting game is very hard, but it's all worth it in the end.
Secondly, I want to say that everyone's journey is different and every surgeon requires different things. You insurance may also require some things of you before they agree to cover your surgery. I can only tell you my experience and hope it helps, but it may not be the same as your journey.
While I did have to do a low cal, low fat, low carb pre-op diet, I did NOT have to do a liquid diet. My pre-op diet was for 10 days instead of 7 and my surgeon's only requirement for that time is that I did not gain weight. I did not necessarily have to lose weight, but it's pretty much impossible to not lose weight if you follow the plan they lay out for you for your pre-op diet.
I was not required to lose any weight before my surgery, but my insurance did require me to have a documented 3 month physician supervised diet plan to get approval. During this three months, I worked hard at changing the way I eat and getting used to exercising. Making those changes before surgery, I am certain, made the post-op transition so much easier. Between the three month supervised diet and my pre-op diet (which I had to do twice since my first surgery date was cancelled), I lost 42 pounds before surgery. It didn't seem like a lot then, but now, combined with the 71 pounds I've lost since surgery, it makes a HUGE difference!
Thank you for your kind words. I am excited to start sharing with you in YOUR victories as well! Take care and best of luck to you on your journey.
