LJ, I'm stunned by your CPR experience. I've never done it for real, only on training dummies. To have the person die...wow. I don't know if you're an ER worker, but even if it's part of your job that had to have been traumatic for you, enough to generate PTSD. I'm so sorry you went through that, and grateful on behalf of the victim that you were there to try so hard.

It's precisely the kind of thing that wakes the sleeping addiction monster, isn't it? I have yet to find a replacement for food/drug of choice. As far as i can tell, we are supposed to learn to let the scary, sad feelings wash over us but not carry us away...

Thanks... no I don't work in a medical field - actually a supervisor at a call center.  It has beat me up all month (happened 2/2) and then going to the CPR training just kicked it back into gear.
  I am doing great with food choices today though, and have a counseling appointment tomorrow.  I will slowly begin to renew my faith in myself.
