Did rny "cure" your PCOS?

I still get low blood sugar and have to eat every 2-3 hours.  My cycles are like clockwork for the first time in my life.  I'm probably fertile now (previously infertile and had to do infertility treatments.  I eventually adopted 2 children.  My facial hair is still the same and I have to wax.    I didn't have balding from the PCOS.  I have nice thick hair even though it falls out from surgery.  My hypertension was cured (had for 23 yrs) after surgery.  I feel a lot better overall.

Within 6 weeks all my female hormones were in the normal ranges for the first time in more than 15 years, only my testosterone was still slightly elevated, but lower than it had been previously.  She took me off the pill as she was wondering if the partial absorbtion was playing games with my testosterone levels, and I go back in about a month for more blood work.  My periods are coming 28-32 days apart, and I'm having PMS (cramps, bloating, cravings) for the first time in my life.  I only have to wax my chin and lip every 3 weeks instead of every week, or shaving every day.  Haven't shaved in almost 6 months!  My "dirty neck" looks cleaner, and my acne has backed off quite a bit.  I pulled out my old Clearblue Easy ovulation predictor kit, and it did detect an LH surge at the right time.  We're not trying to conceive (I'm only 6 months out) but I wanted to see if I was ovulating or not.

All signs point to a PCOS remission here.  I hope the outcome is the same for you!

I didn't read the responses so keep that in mind. I was diagnosed at 19 w/ pcos and my treatment was a birth control pill and early on some other meds and recommendation of atkins diet. that diet did help but i could not stay on it, went off and started binging. ten years later i decided to get rny for my weight loss. i was chronically depressed and did not get a period unless i was on a bcp. now i have tons of energy, no longer take a bcp and as long as i eat properly, my other symptoms are minimized. it is def not a cure but it sure does some sort of fixing!

It came as close to "curing" my PCOS as possible.  I was diagnosed with pcos at age 19.  I never got a period unless it was induced with provera. My blood sugar was very close to being officially diabetic.  My husband and I tried to get pregnant for 4 years, including fertility treamtments and nothing worked.   After surgery, I started getting my period every month and got pregnant 3 times VERY easily.  My blood sugar is now actually on the low side of normal.  Even with having gained some of my weight back, I still get my period reguarly and have no pcos symtoms to speak of.

I didn't have PCOS but I did have insulin resistance and other similar symptoms. Since surgery, my facial hair has decreased, my blood sugars have dropped from 110 fasting to 70 fasting, I've started growing body hair again for the first time in years, lotions and makeup that I was previously allergic to are now not a problem to wear. I wasn't able to lose a single ounce prior to surgery regardless of what I did. I'm now down 125 and not done yet. I was a slow and steady loser. Never lost a ton of weight each month like others did, but have averaged about 5 pounds a month, which makes me very happy.

Edited to add: I had terrible dry scaly patches about the size of a hand on my legs and back. Those are now gone as well.
