Misconceptions that need to be resolved

no suggestion on the number of chews or the length of chewing I just keep chewing until I literally can not hold it in my mouth any more and it slides down and I sing, in my head of course, twinkle twinkle little star song in between each bite.
I can do this!

Glad you are feeling better. Also be sure what you eat is very moist. I take small bites, chew well and eat ONLY moist things. And, when you are healed completely, and the swelling is gone, you won't have to chew to oblivion, just really well.

I apologize in advance if I'm miss understanding anything. Are you mainly eating things that are thin and liquid at this point? Because that right there would be an explanation of why you don't feel discomfort. As well as slider foods (the crackers in your soup, I'm sure turned soggy making them slide), anything that empties your pouch quickly will not give you that "full" or "discomfort feeling" the way solids will. Once you start adding more solid protein (chicken breast) you'll notice your pouch cannot hold as much as you thinki it can. Unless your surgeon didn't make a small pouch for you, I have heard in some cases the surgeon will leave a larger pouch.

If you were further out I would recommend the 5 day pouch test, but your fresh out of surgery still (am I correct?) You need to really find a good solid support system. I hope everything gets better for you.

Thanks so much Pam! I am eating a hard-boiled egg for breakfast and notice with it a lot of restriction. I think your theory about the soup is right.

I'm very lucky to have such a great support system at home, work, and with my friends. None of them have had a bypass, much less a weight problem; but they have all been extremely understanding and supportive.

My doctor has me in puréed phase, and the egg was mashed. I was actually told puréed phase the day they discharged me from hospital, last Thursday. I had a great surgeon so have healed quickly and been able to advance quickly. If I can tear myself away from remotely monitoring my business I will probably be advanced to soft foods next Wednesday when I see him.

Probably would've advanced Friday if I hadn't cancelled my "emergency appt". Unfortunately my staff are bemoaning my absence and I've had to do an emergency consult on Friday.

Out of curiousity, where was the original thread?

I'm tardy to the party and haven't got a clue what this is about.

This is the first freaking time I've every seen you on the boards but, clearly, there was some sort of explosion or implosion somewhere on OH concerning a thread you either originated or posted to.

For what it is worth, bariatric surgeons do sometimes take on patients who have been operated on by other surgeons, if they feel there is a valid reason to do so.  It may take a referral from a PCP or a gastroenterologist or other medical professional who had an existing relationship with the gaining surgeon.  If your husband is a physician, another surgeon would probably take you on as a professional courtesy.

I will also say that, while I don't know your background, I'm skeptical about your story but, maybe, I'm missing some key information.  Which is why I want to see the original thread.  Although if only 14 of 67 posts are all that remains, it probably won't make a whole of sense.

I'm sorry you aren't feeling well but it sure sounds like you were not prepared for this reality of this surgery.

This thread dId not need to be sent to R&R - bad move moderators! If you were going to move anything, you should have moved the one on RNY where PM's were being shared - much more R&R material!!!

I had no idea there was ever any excitement there!  times in the past I've checked in, just a bunch of WLS talk.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I, too, came to the party late and missed all the drama.

It is obvious that you were posting at a very emotional, sleep-deprived time. A lot of things can be said and felt under those conditions.

My suggestion is simply that you apologize.  My suggestion to every one else, is that they forgive you. You made a mistake (never post when you are emotional and tired) and it is completely understandable. Everyone else should acknowledge their own mistakes as well. And then I hope you can all move on.
