Dizziness / low Blood Pressure
I have been having a LOT of severe dizziness the last few days. Not just when I stand, but walking around, etc. The other day at the surgeon (general surgeon) my BP was 89 / 50something. I have nearly fallen over several times today from extreme dizziness so I walked to my parents and took my BP with their machine - 96/67 after walking 100ft to their house.
Any ideas? Is there something I can do, or do I need to contact my primary doctor?

I have the same problem, although mine is worse when I first stand up.
Can you try increasing your fluids?

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I was gonna post on that too. I went the other day and it was 90/60 and the nurse took it twice. The PA took it twice til he was satisfied it wasn't that low. A couple things...it is considered low blood pressure if it is lower than 90/60. I too have been really fatigued and dizzy today. I think mine might be dehydration as I haven't been able to get all fluids in this week. I feel better this afternoon. I already have an appt Mon so I'll wait and see, but if it gets to where I can't stand I will go to the ER. Hopefully you will too. Don't jeopardize your health. k?

I have the same problem and this is what my Dr's told me (both my pcp and surgeon)
1. Increase fluids to 80-100oz a day
2. Increase salt intake - there is a few ways to do this:
a. add salt to food (not an option for me)
b. drink power aid zero - (helps alot, yet tastes wicked salty for me)
I really increased my fluids by alot and man is it helping. I rarely get dizzy now :). The other option that I was given was to go into the hospital for an iv infusion of fluids, as when you get behind it can be really hard to catch up.
My drs did tell me that if I am unable to brin up my bp on my own to the point that I am no longer symptomatic that they could put me on meds for it.

I used to drink a LOT of powerade zero, but my B6 is pretty high so I have to cut down / stop drinking it. I don't put salt on or in anything... I guess I could do some. I'll call the doc on Monday if I am still having issues - this morning was pretty rough but I've been ok this afternoon for the most part.
