Today is my six year anniversary of my WLS.  I wanted to share with you the good, the bad, and the good again.  I started this journey at 306 lbs. and at 15 months out, I was at my lowest at 151 lbs. but mostly hung out around 155 lbs.

My second year out, I had to have surgery for an incisional hernia.  During this period, I gained about 10 lbs. back, not bad.  Then the big set back came the next year due to economy, job, stress, anxiety and a lot of other things going on in my life that cause me to take care of others and forget about me.  The carbs that year and a half, cost me another 60 lb. gain for a total of 70 lbs. over all.

Last May on Mothers Day my daughter asked me was I happy and was I taking care of myself.  It was a wake up call.  The next day, I came back to OH, I started back to basics just like a newbie and starting walking.  At first, 20 minutes then up to 1 hour a day, every day.  My husband has been my biggest supporter walking every step with me.  I am proud to say that I took off 69 lbs. of the regain and now weigh in at 156 lbs.

My new journey now is to get a tummy tuck or LBL to get the remaining loose skin remove.  This trip of mine has had its ups and downs but I wouldn't trade it for the  world.  I have never regretted it and I know if I had not had it, who knows what I would weigh today.  I am very grateful to OH for being here so I have a place to come and find something out.  It doesn't matter how long you have been a WLS graduate, I am happy to say that I learn something new from somebody everyday.

A heartfelt thank you to all my OH friends for sharing your journeys.  They really do give people hope for their own success.  I have tried to post pictures underneath, if they do not appear, click on my profile and you can see my before and after pictures.

Tess, that's really wonderful!  You had alot of stress, gained weight, but you got your act back together!  Your husband must be good - he goes walking with you!  That will keep you both in shape.
Best wishes

My husband is the best!  He walks with me every day and we work out in the gym twice a week.  He is my rock!

Thank you for your story, it brings me hope and knowledge that this can be done and the support is there no matter how far out you are.  I am about 20 months out and am staying just about 150-155 depending on the fluids lol.  Carbs have been creeping back into my diet, and this is my wake up call.  Thank you and keep up the great work!!!!

You may be only one person in the world, but to someone you are the world

You wouldn't think that bad carbs can mess you up but I am living proof that they messed with me.  I miss my Doritoes but I love getting back into my size 10 jeans.
