Telling family about the surgery
me and my husband r going to have surgery in 4 or 5 months fingers crossed... I have told my family but we haven't said anything to his or friends. I think I'm worried we r not going to get approved for surgery and to tell them we r going to get the surgery and then get no from the insurance company .

I don't think you should tell them anything. Wait until after the surgery. Telling them now is probably going to result in them wanting to talk you out of it and that is more stress than you need now. I did not tell most people until after the surgery when they asked how I lost so much weight. Even then I would hear stories about people wno had the surgery, had all kinds of complications, and who gained all their weight back.
Everyone I told was supportive, you may be shocked about who supports you. The only person who did not support me was my uncle, who is the type to argue everything. But keep it to the people who wont use it against you, and the ones you you believe should know. If you feel comfortable to tell them after surgery than thats up to you. I didnt tell many people before surgery because I didnt want to feel like they have expectations of me
