How long did you guys wait to start eating salads and peanuts? I have been dying for a chicken or tuna salad and I have been told salt free almonds and pistachios are low fat high protein easy snacks I'm a little over 3 months out now. What do you guys think?

I think I started on salads as soon as I was on solids. Cautiously, adding one new ingredient each salad so if I had an issue, I'd know what to eliminate

Almonds are great but they're not low-fat, just thought I'd mention... though frankly between you and me I gained 100 pounds on a low-fat diet. I lost 53 on a "fat doesn't matter but carbs do" diet.... I officially gave up on worrying about good fats (the fats in nuts, olives, olive oil)

So as long as I eat the "fats" smartly and stay exercising I should be fine? I think I'm about 600-900 calories a day depending on what I eat but I'm one of those ones that also burns 200-400 calories 5 days a week at the gym.

I think being smart about fats (which means nothing deep fat fried) You're likely to be fine. Ultimately WLS is about learning new habits, and chucking bad old habits. Food isn't evil. It's what we do with it that results in a healthy system or an unhealthy system.

Make sure you know what a portion size of nuts is - and don't eat them blindly because those calories will add up - good fat or not good fat!!!!!!
