Toradol injections

 Interesting ... I have been in constant pain for the past two weeks(something not right in my stomach) yesterday I went to see my PCP and the first thing that came out of his mouth was TORADOL! I told him I wasn't supposed to have NSAIDS and he said under the cir****tances it would probably be ok. I had an EGD done on the 20th and I have no ulcers. His theory is that I might have adhesions.... I'm still in pain and FED UP! If the shot had made me feel better I might have agreed that it was worth the risk.. Sadly I can't say that it helped. 

The biggest problem is that you can get ulcers in your remnant stomach, and so an EGD won't SEE them, but that doesn't mean you dont' have them. I had severe gastric distress after I spent three days in the ICU (they gave me IV NSAIDS)... almost ended up BACK in the hospital as a result of the first hospitalization.

 That's the thing.  I had toradol injections all the time pre bypass and they worked great but i'm just not sure i'm willing to risk getting an ulcer .

DON'T ever receive Toradol in any form.  I received 2 injections for severe neck pain.  Three days later I was in the hospital with a GI bleed.  Finally an ulcer was diagnosed 18 months later after 3 bouts of bleeding.  Take care...Stella

I went to the walkin clinic for a migraine and they were going to give me a drug ****tail containing Toradol. At the time, I didn't care what I got cause I wasn't thinking real clear at the time due to the headache. A few minutes late, the PA came in and said due to my bypass that she was switching it to a narcotic. I was impressed with her being that she is a walkin clinic doctor and hadn't ever seen me before!!
