One Month Post Op Visit
I had my one month post op visit yesterday and was almost as pleased with my progress as the doctor was! I've lost nearly 30 lbs since surgery on 4/2, but best of all, my bloodwork is showing a marked improvement in my numbers. Especially my triglycerides. They're almost normal! I've never had normal triglycerides! NEVER! I knew my tests would show improvement but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly or be so dramatic. It makes me very happy!
Learning to eat again continues to be an adventure. I can't eat chicken at all, but I can eat ground beef and turkey in chili, meat loaf made with ground beef, any kind of cheese, and of course eggs so I'm getting plenty of protein. I'm being careful with reintroducing veggies and fruits. So far I know I can eat green beans and applesauce. I'm going to try cooked carrots and either pears or peaches packed in juice next.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day out there!

Great job, I buy the individual packs of pears and peaches diced and enjoy them very much. I make my veggie soup with carrots, celery and potatoes and it goes down just fine. I too worry about trying new foods but we do have to, lol.
