I messed up
I'm one month out and went out to eat w family for mothers day. I had 1/2 c potato salad, 1/2 c peas, 1/2 c of peaches in water. I messed up so bad. I feel like crap. Then a few minutes ago I had 1/2c steamed broccoli w carrots. I can't ruin this. I am scared to death. What if I've stretched my pouch? What can I do? I can't take it back.
Overeating one time should not stretch your pouch.
What you can do is to think about why you ate so much and make a plan to keep you from doing it again in the future. You can seek therapy to help you if you need help. You can stick to your doc's plan going forward.

Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Stop beating yourself up first of all. We all have bad days following WLS, but we learn from it and start fresh. Just remember how you feel right now, and the next time you reach for something that is not on program at that time, you think back at how you felt. It took me two times of eating off program, and I'm sure there will be days where I do not make a good decision. All you can do is remember how you were feeling, and get right back on the horse so to speak. This is such a learning process, use this as a learning opportunity.
Get right back on track and keep your chin up. I'm six months out, and this my second year without my mother who passed. I ate more potato than I intended as I'm alone in my dad and moms house by myself. Once I realized I was eating because I was sad, I got up and threw away what was left and put the moment in my AHA list.
Please forgive yourself for making a bad choice. You know what your surgeon's eating program is, trust it and use it. If you loose your way, note it, and get back on track; and also do what you did, turn to the boards for support.
Try and have a great rest of your day.

Look.. You are human. You had this surgery for a reason! You will probably want to be mindful of this experience the next time you go out to eat.. Learn the lesson, don't repeat it.
On a personal note.. I'm amazed that your tummy can hold that much, lol. The potato salad would have pushed me beyond my limits. Kinda jealous :) the first time my DH and I went out to eat I ended up vomiting , I MIGHT have eaten 1/2 a cup of food. I was very sad lol.
Hope you feel better tomorrow!
