Upper abdominal pain

In the last 2 weeks, I have been experiencing pain in the upper abdomen, radiating around, into the back. It happens within minutes of eating, and doubles me over.  It can occur after eating 3 bites, or up to 10 minutes after completion of a meal.  I generally have to lay on my abdomen, applying pressure to get the pain to resolve, for up to 20 mins.  I am 11 months out, and have lost 130 pounds.  Any suggestions? I am taking Omeprazole, with no relief.

I just had the same pains last week on my left side. I had CAT scan that showed everything was normal. Surgeon decided to do exploratory surgery & found 3 internal hernias which they repaired & I've had no pain since.

I would contact your surgeon. You never know when that could be serious. You could have an obstruction or something. It is best to call and talk to the nurse then worry.

I too have been experiencing a lot of abdomen pain that doubles me over too, although mine do not radiate to the back (do you still have your gall bladder?), it sounds like that, i was scoped a while  back and I had a couple of small ulcers i think that might be the problem with me I go to the gastroenterologist this week for a follow up so hopefully he will let me know what to do, hope you feel better soon

I've been having the same problem, mine can last a few minutes to several hours...feels like air trapped and is excrutiating when it happens.  Dr thinks it might be an ulcer but I don't think so. I have a consult with the gastroenterologist at the end of the month, hopefully we will figure out what it is as I don't know how much more I can take.  Good luck.
