I know it's early but I am frustrated
I am 5 weeks post op and have hit a wall. I started with soft foods two weeks ago and have not lost a pound sense...I upped my cardio and added an extra mile walk on my lunch break. I have been very diligent with my food intake and have been averaging 700 cal per day. What the heck is going on? I see the doctor again this Friday, hopefully she will have some insite.

I will be 5 weeks postop tomorrow. I have not lost anything since somewhere around week 1-2. I guess this is normal, but I feel your frustration. I don't want to even leave the house. The people who knew I had RNY are watching the weight loss, and I don't want them to see me now, at the same weight I was 4 weeks ago. I know it will come off, but I am tired of waiting!

Many people hit the 3 week stall and you may be one of them. Your body is adapting and will start losing again. Your weight loss is over 50 pounds and that is a lot in 5 weeks! Congrats
What's going on is that you are losing weight normally. You won't lose every day or every week or even every month. If the normal patterns of weight loss frustrate you, you might feel better if you stay off the scale.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I have been getting at least 64oz of water a day. I have been limiting my "scale time" to once a week but may have to cut that back as well because it is frustrating the heck out of me.

Its normal to have little "stalls" here and there. We won't lose weight every day or every week. We gotta give our bodies a time to rest and catch up to everything that's going on with it. You've made major changes to it. Just be patient and follow your docs plan and you'll lose.
