praline pecan Greek yogurt, yummm
The da vinci syrups are pretty liquid-y. I use the caramel all the time. I just bought raspberry but haven't tried it yet. I am going to make raspberry yogurt with it, though.
To make home made yogurt:
I fill my crockpot about half full of water and turn it on low. I turn it on a little while before I start making the yogurt so it will get warm enough. It needs to be about 115 degrees (I use a thermometer to check).
I heat some milk over medium heat on the stove. You have to stir it a lot. Heat it to 180 degrees, no hotter. Then take it off the stove and let it cool for about 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, I put about two tablespoons of plain yogurt in glass canning jars. I pour the milk into the jars, put the lids on the jars, and shake well. Then I take the lids off the jars and sit the jars in the crockpot of water.
Leave them there for about four hours. Put the lids on the jars and stick them in the fridge. Don't shake them. Leave them alone overnight. You have yogurt.
To make Greek yogurt, I strain it. I line a mesh colander with cheesecloth and put the colander over a bowl. I pour the yogurt into the colander and stick it in the fridge for about two hours. Liquid drains out of it and the yogurt that is left is thicker.
Then I put whatever I want into it to flavor it.

Two tablespoons in each jar. Although I don't really measure, I just plunk a blob in there.
