Sorry to hear this Daisy, hope your recovery goes well.  We are never out of the woods for a bowel obstruction....it isn't really due to gastic bypass but any abdominal surgery, adhesions, hernia, etc. could potentially cause an obstruction.

Yes ma'am it's always important to listen and be proactive. 

Does that mean having a lower body lift puts me at greater risk again since it is skin removal and muscle tightening is it different?  There are drains though.

I had a bowel obstruction when I was 26 and spent 5 days in the hospital and week later emergency gallbladder surgery.  I can tell you I have never felt pain like I had with the bowel obstruction.  The Dr said it may have had something to do with my gallbladder, but I don't believe I was worked up properly since I didn't have insurance and was self pay.  Of course this was way before my surgery.  I'm glad you are okay and getting better.  The pain is excruciating.  I was moaning like I was in labor.  I also had no symptoms other than an upset stomach.  I even had a bowel movement that day.  Weird!

You descibed my symptoms exactly...bowel movement that morning, slight upset stomach but that was all.  The pain wascausing me to moan as well...something I do not do unless I'm just coming out of anesthesia.  I had 3 children by natural childbirth and did not moan like I did in ER.
