You have my sympathy. I had the same experience with the IV and I'm a very hard stick so every time they had to start a new line, I got jabbed 3 or 4 times in an effort to find the vein.  The heparin shots were the worst.  They gave me mind under my arms and both arms were BLACK when I left the hospital.

Keep your head up. I promise it gets better :-)

Yeah, the heparin shots do suck.  I had forgotten about that.  See?!  Maybe when you are four months out, you will have forgotten all about it, too.  Hope so!  Meanwhile, rest up, walk around, and sip your H2O.  Welcome to the loser's bench!

I think what you're feeling is pretty normal....sounds like you had a tough go of it - IV sticks are a pain!  Of course you're didn't do it to be skinny - you did it to get healthy.  You're on the way.  Keep us posted.  Glad you're home.

heparin shots are blood thinners.  I had them when I was in the hospital after my accident.  They really don't hurt me because I tell them to pinch the fat on the side of my stomach and I don't feel it at all.

I never felt the heparin shots, but I was always a problem child with the IVs. I had the same issue. I always dread the IV worse than any procedure. LOL! Anyway, all of the crying is normal too. It will get better, I promise. We've all been there in some form or fashion.

I had heperine bruises for about 3 weeks and the shots didn't hurt but the meds stung like hell. After the heperine bruises wore off the fingerprint bruises showed up , my doc must have had to push pretty hard on parts of my belly.
Before surgery he said, sorry to ruin your nice tummy tuck...believe me I don't care!!! the incision where the band came out is about 4 inches :( all the rest are little

Hang in there, Chelsea.  As you can see, I just had my surgery last week and I was feeling ALL of those feelings you mentioned.  I cried over everything.  I wanted to know what the hell I did to myself and if it could be taken back.  To be honest, it took me about 6 days before I felt better about it.

Keep in mind that you had a major surgery and are coming off anesthesia, big time pain meds and your body has undergone something dramatic.  Be patient with yourself (and the hubby) because this is new for everyone involved.  I just recently (the past day or two) stopped with the tears.  It does get better. This, I can assure you. Just keep reminding yourself that what you feel now is only temporary.  Life will get back to normal.  AND....visit this site daily....several times a day, in fact.  That has been a huge help for me.

Hugs, girlfriend and know that you are worth it.....

Omg, I TOTALLY forgot about the heparin stomach shots!!  Wow--how does a person forget that??  Lots of narcotics, I assume.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and I'm sorry you had such a cruddy time. I hope everything starts feeling more normal soon!
