OT - I Stink at Math - any help?

OK.... I am going to put my ignorance out on FULL display, but I have to have these numbers firmly engraved in my mind.

I am trying to figure out yards / meters/ feet.

My parent's pool is 40ft in length.  When I say "swim a length" I mean the 40ft. If I say "swim a lap" I mean down and back - 80ft.

How many laps would I need to swim to have a minimum of 200yds? 7 laps and a length?

Or maybe we can just say 100yrds and then I can double it or triple it for more yardage?  I have fooled with it so much all of the numbers are mushed up in my addled brain.

80 feet = 26.6666667 yards

200 yards divided by 26.6666667 = 7.5
so, you need to do 7.5 laps.... you have it right 7 laps and a length.

Gotta love a good story problem... I will have to use this one for my kids as an extra credit problem!
hahaha!

There are three feet in a yard, so 200 yards is 600 feet.  80/600= 7 and a length.

You aren't so bad with math.

I'm too fat to do math. lmao!  Just kidding.  I probably could have figured it out because I know 3ft = 1yd.  Glad someone else got the answer to you.
