Bridie got to spend her day
In the hospital getting 3 liters of IV fluids and IV antibiotics. On a good note, I called my dietician and because am supposed to start fulls tomorrow, I talked her into letting me have a shake tonite for some protein and healing. Sippin it now..............
Actually, It wa a horrible day. Having to go to the hospiytal brought on my pity party for myself and the tears just started flowing. Then the nurse was all task on no empathy or patient connectedness. Then my surgeon who is supposed to come back after his case around 1230 and do another digging episode on my wound which was freaking me out because of the anticipated pain. Finally at around 2 I asked them to call him in the OR so that maybe I could get some good pain medicine prior to him showing up to poke and prod. Turns out he left the hospital to go to another hospital for an emergency. No one could reach him. He finally called around 3 with orders and that he wouldn't make it back to prod and poke. YEAH!! But by now It has been since 7AM that I have had anything for pain. I didn't realize that my personality could turn into a spitting cobra!

Oh girl. I'm so sorry. But rest assured, it's not just you. I think those kind of shenanigans, combined with being hungry and tired, would turn ANY sane person into a spitting viper.

Birdie I am so terribly sorry to hear all of this is happening to you. i wish there was something i could do for you. I hate it when nurses loose their bedside manner, that is when it is time to move on, or take a break. If you cant show any kind of empathy then you don't have any business being in patient care.
I truly hope things get better for you tomorrow. I will say prayers for you tonight. Just keep your head high and know that this will only last a short time, because victory is yours and it is coming very soon.
