Driving myself CRAZY..Long
I'd like to start off by saying my weight loss has been great. I should have nothing to complain about..in the last 30 days I've dropped over 10lbs which is outstanding since I had my gallbladder surgery in that timeframe as well. That being said I've been holding 187-188 for almost the last week. I've been doubting everything I'm eating..I've been starving allllllll the time(650 calorie plan per my surgeon..I have been at 800 several days this week tho) I've put in 3 solid hours at the gym this week.
So here I am trying to figure out what I'm going to eat for lunch today..I even put all 3 options into myfitnesspal and took a screenshot so you guys could analyze the meals and tell me if I'm messing up somehow. All of the carb talk lately has me scared that I'll regain everything I've lost if I eat bread. Overall I think I'm micromanaging the heck out of this and maybe I just need a good smack across the face!
What am I looking for out of this post? For you guys to tell me everything is going to be okay and that I'm not failing..and take a look at these 3 options and let me know if they are good 'go to' options for lunches.
I couldn't get the screenshot to post properly so here at the stats of the 3 lunches..
Option 1 - Salad w/egg white, turkey, cheese and FF dressing Cals 180, Carbs 14, Fat 6, Protein 18, Sugar 9, Fiber 1
Option 2 - Deli Meat Sandwich 1 slice whole grain bread Cals 185, Carbs 19, Fat 6, Protein 19, Sugar 4, Fiber 4
Option 3 - Tuna Salad w/1 slice whole grain bread Cals 208, Carbs 23, Fat 3, Protein 27, Sugar 5, Fiber 7

Lots of people would have no problems with any of these choices at six months out. I've chosen to keep my carbs under 30 for a day while I'm in weight loss mode (which is incredibly difficult), but I also had this surgery because I was diagnosed as insulin resistant and pre-diabetic.
Remember that you are still in weight loss mode and you are still malabsorbing calories. Some on this board have said that malabsorption works better with protein and fat than with carbs, so you might want to consider that. However, if your other meal options are really low carb, I don't see much wrong with your choices (except the salad dressing on your salad has too much sugar, but even that is a your mileage may very thing).
I would alter your Option 1 as: Salad w/ whole egg (yolks are fine on my diet... and they have a good nutritional value), turkey cheese and sugar free dressing.
I would alter your Option 2 as: Deli Meat Sandwich w/ 1 low carb wrap or skinny bread. (No mayo).
I would alter your Option 3 as: Tuna Salad (made with sugar free dressing) w/ 1 low carb wrap or skinny bread.
This bread is very thin, and has 20 grams carb for 3 slices... so 1 slice would have about 7 grams carbs. http://www.pepperidgefarm.com/ProductDetail.aspx?catID=755

After my first six months I had long periods of maintenance followed by sudden weight loss. Many times I thought that I had reached my final weight only to be surprised by another sudden loss.
I am almost 2 yeaars out and since December of 2011 I have actually been in maintencance and I fight not to go below 125 lbs. I think long stalls are just part of some of our process, though I know is not the same for everyone.
Focus on following your post op instructions, and you will be fine.

All of those lunch options look fine to me.
And I'm not surprised you've been starving if you've only been eating 650 calories! That seems awfully low at six months out, especially if you are working out much. I was eating about 1000 calories at that point and I did not exercise that much.

Thanks for your reply Kelly..I really do have a mental issue going on because on my surgeon saying to stick to 650 calories..I feel extreme guilt when I have days that I'm over 650 calories..I spent 10 minutes earlier talking myself into it being okay to eat a reduced fat cheese stick after I got home from the gym knowing that she says "no snacking".
No snacking might work for some people but it wouldn't work for me. Most successful post ops I know eat more than three times a day.
