Hey all...so I'm hoping to pick your thoughts. I have up until this point been in the sleeve wagon. Until I had my appointment with my surgeon last week. And now I'm debating rny bypass. She said I'm a good candidate for both. So I'm wondering what you all have heard regarding comparisons, pros, cons.
Thanks...Amy

I went with the bypass because i have insulin resistance related to poly cystic ovaries. There have been studies that show that bypass can help with insulin resistance in that it changes the way the body absorbs the insulin. So for me I would have still had the same problem with the sleeve..I would have had a hard time losing weight because my body kept storing the insulin as fat.

I think it depends on why you are having the surgery, what other issues you deal with, how much weight you want/need to lose.

Good luck figuring out what you plan on doing!

Thanks, that's actually really helpful because I also have pcos. I'm starting to lean more towards bypass...a lot more...based on the research I've vern doing this weekend.

I have PCOS, too!  I had RNY because it seemed like I would see
the most results the quickest....at least that's how the papers I was
given at my initial seminar seemed.  I did not know the effects RNY
had on PCOS, so that's an added bonus!  YAY!!
