Just wanted to let everyone know that it is soooo much easier to get in my doses of Calcium Citrate since I switched to Bariatric Advantage. I use the 500mg raspberry chewables and it is a pleasure, not a chore to get them down. Its kinda like a little treat for me 3 times a day. But I also have a question now that I have made the switch. My citracal had D3 in it. Do I need to add D3 to the Bariatric Advantage? This has been a godsend, along with the Chicken flavor Unjury. Its much easier to meet my protein, calorie and get in all my supplements.

I use the cherry chewables, which have 500 mg calcium (as citrate) and and 300 IU vitamin D3.  Are you taking the chewables or the "Chewy Bites?"  I didn't think there was a raspberry in the chewables, and the chewy bites only have 250 mg of calcium.

According to Bariatric Advantage's website, their "Calcium Citrate Chewy Bites deliver 250 mg of elemental calcium as calcium citrate. They also contain 125 IU of vitamin D3 for healthy absorption."

You probably need exta D3, yes.  But you should go by your labs.  I did a survey a while back and most post ops were taking at least 10,000 IU D3 per day in addition to what's in their multis and calcium in order to maintain a vitamin D level of at least 80, which is where the Linus Pauling Institute says it  needs to be.  Two people were maintaining their level on just 5000 IU a day and one was not taking any extra D3.
