Potassium powder

I have a question, he is giving you this potassium and your potassium isnt low??  Just because he finds peoples potassium levels tend to get low?  If that is what I read correctly, that is very dangerous with potassium.  You can do this with many supplements but not potassium.

Some doctors will use the powder form of potassium for gastric bypass patients because all potassium tablets and capsules are long acting which we dont absorb well.  When I was talking to my PCP and my urologist because I needed a certain type of potassium to prevent kidney stones, they told me that I could use a powder potassium - that I would absorb it with no problem - no malabsorbton of the kidneystones.

She told me that it does taste vial but if I put it in a shake with all the other flavorings it might not taste so bad.  Before you take it though, I would check with your PCP and make sure you get a potassium blood test.  When they wanted me to take the potassium supplement to prevent kidney stones,  even though I needed to take the supplement for the prevention puproses - my potassium was too high.  I wish you the best.
