I'll be joining you in surgery that day!  My pre-op diet has been high protein, low carbs.  Usually an eggwhite scramble in the morning, protein shake for lunch (with Almond Milk... gotta love 1 carb per 8oz) and a big dinner without carbs.  Keeping calories around 1500 range.  Also hitting the gym 3x a week.

Capt-Kirk,  You get to eat food?!? Feel blessed. I get five Carnation Instant Breakfast, no sugar, and 16 ounces of clear fruit juice a day, plus eight glasses of H20. Needless to say, I have not traveled far without a pitstop or two. And I kind of miss chewing.

I hope and pray your surgery goes well. Mine is the 8th and I really can't wait.

God Bless.

I'm not losing large amounts of weight pre-op, but our pre-op diet was pretty liberal.  Basically, low fat foods, carbs under 20g a day, and unlimited low-fat high protein foods.  Wife made a 97% lean cheeseburger meatloaf last night.  Small amount of bacon with dubliner cheddar cheese inside.  Sounds terrible, but only ends up being a few hundred calories, which isn't that bad when you've consumed 400 calories total up to that point :)

The sad part is, next week, our surgeon requires 3 weeks of liquids post-op.  It's going to be a rough 3 weeks and a rough 4th of July.  Traditionally I've always been the BBQ king.  This time I will just be on mushies, and may cry :(
