It's huge progress! To really understand how significant this is, next time your at the grocery store, pick up three 10lb. bags of potatoes. Lug that 30 lbs. up and down all the aisles of the store a couple of times each. That's how much weight your no longer lugging around everyday and it's gone forever!
Congratualtions on your success and don't compare yourself to others. Those who have lost such huge amounts so quickly either have super metabolism or they're not totally honest about how much they really lost. Also, I think you'll notice a lot of them are men and men lose twice as quickly as women. According to all the WLS statistics, you're right were you should be this many weeks out.

A little late to the party with my reply, BUT, I want to say that you have a great surgeon!!
Dr Jiser told me that 3 pounds a week was great. I initially didn't think that was good but slow and steady wins the race. Follow the plan, drink lots of water and you just won't believe how great everything is in a short amount of time.
I think that we all have that little voice in the back of our head thinking that I am the one that this isn't going to work for. Most of us have failed at losing weight so many times that it just is a fear that this is going to be another failure. I am almost 4 years out, and still follow my "rules" and my biggest problem is keeping weight on!!
