Hi everyone!!  I've been lurking for a bit so this is my first post.  I'm set for RNY Gastric Bypass on July 17th so I've been trying to get everything together in anticipation.  I've been looking around at differen****er bottles so that I can start practicing drinking without a straw.  All of my curren****erbottles have a straw of some kind or another.  I looked at Amazon.com for different ones but nothing jumped out at me.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a bariatric friendly water bottle?

I use a Rubbermaid 20 oz BPA free reusable water bottle.  I know I need 3 1/2 of those a day.  It's nice because it has a ring around it, so I can carry it with just a hook of a finger.

I bought mine at Giant, but I've seen 2 packs in Target and Walmart (I'll probably be picking up a 2 pack soon, always nice to have more than 1 water bottle)

I've been using a Camelbak bottle with a bite valve on it since right after surgery. It does not have a straw. The bite valve helps control the amount of air that gets in as you drink. All my friends are using them now too! You can find them at Target or on Amazon for about $14.

I use a bobble. It's like a sippy cup at the top haha but it has a filter built in so you can just use tap water where ever you are and it still tastes clean!

I drink with a straw.  Some RNY folks say using a straw gives them gas so they don't do it.  Most seem to have no problems with it.

Search on amazon for Bubba Mug.  They're stainless and come in really big sizes.  I bought a 32oz one.  Helps me keep track.

Good luck on your surgery!!

My surgeon recommended that i use a straw right after surgery so I still use it. No problems.
